Installing VLC 2.1.0 for Ubuntu Natty

Apr 1st, 2012No Comments

Many people running versions of Ubuntu Natty Narwhal or lower, or even people with distros based on Natty Narwhal (e.g. Peppermint 2) will find that they can’t get the latest VLC 2.1.0 update from the site. Good news is, there’s a PPA for those who happen to be on “old” versions of Ubuntu or distros based on them.

A simple tutorial, nothing fancy. Quick, easy & painless.

Terminal commands:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:videolan/master-daily

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install vlc
