Please help

My Father has given me a NETGEAR DG934v3 Router that he had no use for from AOL. I would like to use it for my laptop my broadband connection is supplied by Tiscali if I load the cd will it take over my laptop with AOL crud. Is there another way to install wireless without cd? Would be grateful for any help as am a complete novice.

You should be able to access the web interface on the router. If you look on the bottom, it normally has a sticker which tells you its default settings (address, username and password).

Do you have a wired network available to configure your router? (I.E. plug your laptop directly into the router using a network cable, or CAT 5 cable.)
