NAMEbasename - strip directory and suffix from filenames
SYNOPSISbasename NAME [SUFFIX]
Print NAME with any leading directory components removed. If specified, also remove a trailing SUFFIX.

- output version information and exit
- basename /usr/bin/sort
- Output "sort".
- basename include/stdio.h .h
- Output "stdio".
