About this Website
This site came into being in December 2003 using a beta test version of Plone 2.0 running at the end of an ADSL line. It ran in this state until the end of April 2004 after accumulating nearly 2 million hits in only 4 months.

As of the 16th of August 2004 the site moved to a new commercial environment, this includes a new server (almost identical specification) but with a clean Plone 2.0.3 (release) installation and around 10Mbits of bandwidth.
Upgraded
At the beginning of 2007, we moved the site onto our clustered hosting system, which will give full hardware failure tolerance. In english, this means if one (or more) of the servers that this site is hosted on dies, the site will stay online.
System Specification
- Operating system, Ubuntu Linux Edgy running a 2.6.17 kernel.
- The machines are Intel Xeon systems running at 2.80GHz with 2Gb of RAM, all at least 2 cores, but some have 4.
- The lowest level web services are Apache 2.2.3.
- Basic portal /CMF services are provided by Zope 2.9.5.
- The final content management system is Plone 2.1.4.
- Dynamic functionality is provide by Python 2.4.4.
Bandwidth
- The server is connected to a 100Mb Internet feed.
